According to a study conducted by the technology manufacturer Cisco, in Latin America the demand for professionals with ICT skills will exceed the supply and 449,000 full-time employees will be needed by 2019. In the case of Colombia, the report reveals that the digital gap is 22%, that is to say, it will require
25,195 workers
in the technology and communications sector, thus, Colombia faces a shortage of supply due to low training in ICT areas (Bogota Chamber of Commerce, 2016).
